Chris is an innovative thinker and entrepreneur, with broad-based expertise in information security – InfoSec (incl. cybersecurity), data privacy, risk, RegTech, FinTech, operations, finance, sales and business development.
He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Cyprus Higher Technical Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Computer Engineering) from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.
He is a member of Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (E.T.E.K) since 2003, the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) since 2004, the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) since 2014 and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as of 2017. Chris has co-founded and has been elected initially as Vice Chairman and later Chairman of the Cyprus Association of Information Protection and Privacy (CAIPP) as of February 2018 and April 2022 respectively. Moreover, Chris has been elected as a member of the National Reflective Committee CYS/MC 8.06 for Information Security, Cybersecurity and Data Protection of Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), as of 2020.
Chris’s career has centred on the provision of innovative information technology services and solutions for various industries holding senior management positions in a number of firms.
He has proven track record both as a manager as well as an entrepreneur, underpinned by his business acumen and his capacity to inspire.
Having 25+ years of post-qualification professional experience, he is an expert in the field of Financial Technologies (such as RegTech, incl. EMIR, MiFID II, CRS, FATCA, etc.), Information Security (incl. Cybersecurity), Data Privacy and Operations (GDPR, NIS, NIS-2, DORA, HIPPA, IMO MSC-FAL.1/Circ.3 etc.), with deep involvement in IT Audits, IT Risk Advisory, Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management and Regulatory Reporting, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery Management (DCM) and Project Management. During his career, Chris has performed various audits of information systems (incl. trading platforms) and related processes & review related security policies and procedures.
Chris, has also attended various courses throughout his career such as from various recognized vendors like Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) and Red Hat (RH131, RH035), as well as various Information Security and other related courses such as CISSP and HCISPP from (ISC)², CEH and CHFI from EC-Council, CISA form ISACA, Managing Cyber-Security, Global Securities and Risk in Financial Services from CISI, the GDPR and the Fourth AML Directive from ACAMS and many more.
Currently he is a certified Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA), as well as a PECB Trainer, a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO), and holds various other PECB/MSECB Senior Lead Manager/Implementer/Auditor certifications in the fields of ISO 27001 (Information Security), ISO 27701, ISO 27032 (Cybersecurity), ISO 29100 (Privacy) and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery). Among his notable achievements is the successful passing of the PECB ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer exams in Brussels, Belgium (becoming among the first in Europe to hold such a certification), as well as the PECB Advance Auditing Techniques (AAT) exam in Frankfurt Germany, which led in becoming a fully Certified PECB Management Systems Auditor.
Chris is experienced in implementing and auditing various management system standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework (CSCF), ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 etc.
He founded CPbros Group in 2010, with the vision of becoming one of the leading firms in the region.
Charalambos is a Mechanical Engineer (B.Sc.) in Energy sector, member of Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (ETEK) and a full member of Cyprus Safety and Health Association (CySHA).
He is approved for providing External Services of Protection and Prevention (EXYPP), from the Department of Labour Inspection (Cyprus) and Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA-ADR) for Road Transportation, from the Department of Road Transport (Cyprus).
He is certified with NEBOSH (International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) and has experience in various projects within the construction industry (for Health, Safety & Environment Plans, etc.) and Critical Infrastructures (for Risk Assessments & Management Systems).
Furthermore, Charalambos is a certified Auditor/Lead Auditor for Management Systems, by STAREGISTER (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 22000/HACCP, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001) and by PECB (ISO 22301/Business Continuity).
Also he is a certified PECB Trainer and Implementer/Lead Implementer/Auditor (ISO 27001/ Information Security) and has knowledge and experience for ISO 31000/Risk Management, GDPR, Safety Playgrounds, Crisis Management, Energy Management, Energy Saving, Building Energy Efficiency and Energy Audits for Transportations (Category C).
Kyriakos is a professional manager with extensive experience in top management positions for 20 years in the construction and the waste management industries in Cyprus. He has overseen HR, Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental systems (including certified systems) and has been a CEO in a number of companies for the last 16 years. He is very familiar with strategy formulation, business processes and controls and modern communication methods.
He holds a BSc honors Degree in Civil Engineering with concentration in Environmental Engineering from the University of Maine and an MBA in Finance and Real Estate Finance from the TEXAS A&M University. He is also a PhD candidate in the Business School of the University of Cyprus with specialisations in organisational sustainability and CSR.
In 2005, Kyriakos was chosen by the local industry to develop the collective EPR schemes in Cyprus for Packaging Waste, Electrical and Electronic Waste and household Batteries (Green Dot Cyprus, Electrocyclosis and Afis). He set-up and managed all three organisations for 12 years as a General Manager. The three EPR schemes collect, process and store sensitive corporate data for more than 1300 companies and Kyriakos was in charge of the secure processing of these data. He knows and understands theoretically and practically the challenges and the needs of organisations in managing data with security. He left the Executive position early this year to work more independently as a Consultant and Trainer in Sustainability, Business Improvement and Business Continuation.
Over the last decade, Kyriakos was in charge of educational and informational campaigns with a total investment of 6,000,000 euros. He has also been significantly involved in a number of European Programs, including two Life programs with a total investment of 3,500,000 euros. Kyriakos is familiar in the implementation of ISO 9000, ISO 14000, EMAS, ISO 26000 and GRI reporting standards and he is a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO) and Trainer.
Kyriakos has been elected as Chairman for the Cyprus Association of Information Protection and Privacy (CAIPP) as of February 2018.
