Chris is an innovative thinker and entrepreneur, with broad-based expertise in information security – InfoSec (incl. cybersecurity), data privacy, risk management, RegTech, FinTech, and in general business development.

He holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Cyprus Higher Technical Institute and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (specializing in Computer Engineering) from the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

He is a member of various professional organisations and associations like, the Cyprus Scientific and Technical Chamber (E.T.E.K) since 2003, the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) since 2004, the Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) since 2014 and the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) as of 2017. Chris has co-founded and has been elected initially as Vice President and later President of the Cyprus Association of Information Protection and Privacy (CAIPP) as of February 2018 and April 2022 respectively. Moreover, Chris has been elected as a member of the National Reflective Committee CYS/MC 8.06 for Information Security, Cybersecurity and Data Protection of Cyprus Organisation for Standardisation (CYS), as of 2020, representing CAIPP and the Cyprus Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCCI).

Chris’s career has centred on the provision of innovative information technology services and solutions for various industries holding senior management positions in a number of firms. 

He has proven track record both as a manager as well as an entrepreneur, underpinned by his business acumen and his capacity to inspire. 

Having 25+ years of post-qualification professional experience, he is an expert in the field of Financial Technologies (such as RegTech, incl. EMIR, MiFID II, CRS, FATCA, etc.), Information Security (incl. Cybersecurity), Data Privacy and Operations (GDPR, NIS, NIS-2, DORA, HIPPA, IMO MSC-FAL.1/Circ.3 etc.), with deep involvement in IT Audits, IT Risk Advisory, Enterprise Risk and Compliance Management and Regulatory Reporting, Business Continuity Management (BCM), Disaster Recovery Management (DCM) and Project Management. During his career, Chris has performed various audits of information systems (incl. trading platforms) and related processes & reviewed related security policies and procedures.

Chris, has also attended various courses throughout his career such as from various recognized vendors like Microsoft (MCP, MCSA, MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCSP) and Red Hat (RH131, RH035), as well as various Information Security and other related courses such as CISSP and HCISPP from (ISC)², CEH and CHFI from EC-Council, CISA form ISACA, Managing Cyber-Security, Global Securities and Risk in Financial Services from CISI, the GDPR and the Fourth AML Directive from ACAMS and many more. 

Currently he is a certified Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus (HRDA), as well as a PECB Trainer, a PECB Certified Data Protection Officer (CDPO), and holds various other PECB/MSECB Senior Lead Manager/Implementer/Auditor certifications in the fields of ISO 27001 (Information Security), ISO 27701, ISO 27032 (Cybersecurity), ISO 29100 (Privacy) and ISO 22301 (Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery). Among his notable achievements is the successful passing of the PECB ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer  exams in Brussels, Belgium (becoming among the first in Europe to hold such a certification), as well as the PECB Advance Auditing Techniques (AAT) exam in Frankfurt Germany, which led in becoming a fully Certified PECB Management Systems Auditor.

Chris is experienced in implementing and auditing various management system standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework (CSCF), ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 27701 etc.

He founded CPbros Group in 2010, with the vision of becoming one of the leading firms in the region.
